• Library offers 3forME library card for students

    It is a brand new school year. For most of us, a good portion of our lives followed a school calendar. My internal clock still wants to follow this schedule. In June and July, it is a little harder to focus, but when August rolls around, I am ready to conquer a “new year.” I even love a new pair of back to school shoes. I have an affinity to school supplies. I love binders, pens and all that fun stuff. I get excited when I see stores start stocking these items.

  • Shop With A Cop basketball tournament

    Carrollton Police Officer Andy Sisenstein organized a 4-on-4 basketball tournament July 30. Teams were allowed one substitute. Six teams of five signed up, and there was also a 3-point competition. The event raised $600 for Shop With A Cop.

    The team of Andy Sisenstein, Lonnie Mumphrey, Malachia Cole and Darrius Taylor won the 4-on-4 tournament.

  • Camp Shakespheare

    The Carroll County Library hosted Camp Shakespeare July 25-29. On July 29, the group performed “Romeo and Juliet.” The play stayed true to its theme, while also giving the participants the opportunity to do some improvisation as well.

  • NKADD receives $10K from Meals on Wheels America

    The Northern Kentucky Area Development District has been selected to receive $10,000 from Meals on Wheels America. This grant has been made possible through a generous donation from the Kellogg Twenty-Five Year Employees Fund. The Fund is seeking to expand its support of former Kellogg employees and their families by providing grant funds to local Meals on Wheels programs in Kellogg communities.

    • Give yourself space and time to respond to other motorists’ actions.

    • Give other motorists’ time and space to respond to you.

    • Use lane positioning to be seen; ride in the part of the lane where you are the most visible.

    • Watch for turning vehicles.

    • Signal your next move in advance.

    • Avoid weaving between lanes.
