  • Kinmans welcome baby son

    Jamie and Danielle Kinman would like to announce the birth of their son, Kolt Charles Kinman, born Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Big sister, Kylee Kinman, age four, helped welcome Kolt home.

    Maternal grandparents are Charlie and Dru Maiden of Carrollton.

    Paternal grandparents are Ronnie and Margaret Kinman of Carrollton.

  • Couple welcomes baby daughter| Oct. 26

    Rebecca Gibson and Dustin Conrad would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Gracie Ann Conrad born Aug. 13, 2011, at Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 20 ¼ inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Jay and Ruthann Gibson of Worthville.

    Paternal grandparents are Yolanda Conrad of Turners Station and Andy Mefford of Carrollton.

  • Volunteers sought for Haunted Train

    The Carroll County Tobacco Festival is seeking volunteers to help with this year’s Haunted Train Ride Oct. 21-22 and Oct. 28-29. The event will be held at the front entrance of General Butler State Resort Park beginning at 6 p.m.

    Dress up in scary costumes and makeup to join in and provide those attending with a frightfully fun time.

  • Collins, McDonald to wed Oct. 22

    Gail Collins of Carrollton and Mark A. McDonald of Worthville will exchange wedding vows, Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at the Legion Hall in Carrollton with a reception immediately following at 2 p.m.

    The bride to be is the daughter of the late Roy and Ora Mae Taulbee and the mother of Mandy Purvis, Brandy Collins and Mark Collins Jr. She graduated from Carroll County High School and is employed as a Drumoff at Site Services.

  • Annual Disability Awareness Walk set for Nov. 5

    The fifth annual Disability Awareness Walk will be held Saturday, Nov. 5.

    Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the walk starts at noon in the Wattsy’s House of Iron parking lot. Participants will receive free refreshments and the opportunity to win prizes. Walkers who raise at least $5 in sponsorships will receive a commemorative DAW t-shirt. Ask your family, friends and neighbors to sponsor you in this walk.
