• Eatin’ and Movin’

    Carroll County Extension hosted “Eatin’ and Movin’ at the Carroll County Public Library July 14. The children learned about nutrition and danced to burn off some calories. The program was a part of the library’s Summer Reading Program.

    The Signature Nation Signature of Carrollton is proud to announce the launch of Reflect N’ Us, a virtual gallery of art created by the residents. Reflect N’ Us is a great opportunity for elders to be able to share their beautiful pieces of artwork with the world, according to the news release. Some of the categories include drawings, paintings, jewelry and photography. Many different forms of media have been used by the residents, such as oil and water color paintings, charcoal, ink, chalk, pencil and clay.

    May minutes

    The Caby Froman Club’s last meeting for this program year was held at the Butler Lodge on May 6, 2016, with Patti Burgess as hostess for the meeting. Derby and Mothers’ Day were both celebrated in the theme of the lunch and decorations.

    President Sandra Thomas presided at the meeting, with seven members in attendance.

  • Signature Hometown facilities begin ‘Restore Me,’ includes walking contest

    Signature Hometown is proud to announce that the 60 homes under which they operate have recently launched Restore Me, a new twist on restorative nursing. As part of that launch, they have kicked off a new program called Race Route 66. In this unique competition, elders are going to walk the equivalent of Route 66, which is 2,451 miles. This will occur over the course of the next few months and will end in November or December with a winner, according to the news release.

  • Riley attends 134th annual Funeral Directors Association of Ky., convention

    The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky celebrated their 134th annual convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville on June 28-30. The convention was well attended by funeral directors, suppliers, and their families. Attendance at the Annual FDAK Convention provides funeral directors with a forum to receive and exchange information. Members return home with new ideas that allow them to better serve the families in their communities.
