  • Kemper, Zuber are married on March 31

    Paul Kemper and Connie Kemper are happy to announce the recent wedding of their daughter, Zoe Kemper, all of Carrollton, Ky., to Jeffrey Zuber of Piscataway N.J., son of Frank and Kuman Zuber.

    The bride and groom were married at the Torrey Pines Hilton in La Jolla, Calif., on March 31, 2012. The bride’s maid of honor was Chrissy Dunn of Covington, Ky., and her bridesmaids included Jordan Daniel of Bowling Green, Ky.; Cathy Zuber Puckett of Atlanta, Ga.; and Lesley Logan of Los Angeles, Calif.

  • Wilsons welcome baby son March 24

    Michael and Amber Wilson of La Grange, Ky. would like to announce the birth of their son Derek Nolan Wilson, born March 24, 2012, at 8:29 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Rob and Amy Johnson from Campbellsburg, David and Karen Wilson from Smithfield and Billie Jo Sexton from New Castle.

    We are approaching another busy season of fun in the sun, weddings, backyard parties and more. 

    With food costs going up by the minute, having a garden might help. Which means more things to do, but oh, the benefits of having your very own stash of food.  It certainly will help to keep the summer food costs down.

    On the news the other day, they said flour has gone up about 35 percent. A local restaurant owner told me that some of his food has gone up 100 percent.
