Green Valley Crusaders will be hosting a chili supper and silent auction to benefit Relay For Life on Saturday, April 27 at News Auction, located on Hwy. 227. The event is scheduled from 5-9 p.m. Cost is $7 per person, which includes chili, sandwich, dessert and drink. A silent auction will also be held during this event. As the weather warms, this is the perfect time to think about the tradition of summer camp. From swimming and hiking, to singing songs around a camp fire and newer challenges like a high ropes course, camp is the place to make memories that last a lifetime.
Girls in first through 12th grades from the Carroll County area have a great way to build these kinds of memories this summer. Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana will be holding summer camps at two locations on multiple dates from June through July.
Wednesday, April 17: Walk-away the pounds, 9 a.m.; Zumba, 5:15 p.m.; after school Lego fun, 3:30 p.m.; apps, 6 p.m.
Thursday, April 18: Walk-away the pounds, 9 a.m.; Mother Goose Time, (0 to six months old) 10 a.m.; Music Makers, (age six months and up), 11 a.m.; GED help, 4 p.m.; homework help, 5 p.m.; ESL class, 6 p.m.
Friday, April 19: Walk-away the pounds, 9 a.m.; computer basics, 10 a.m. until noon; library board meeting, noon; Friday crafts, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Carroll County Public Library will present its annual Mary Ann Gentry Memorial Art Show during May. Entries will be accepted from April 15-May 3, from both past and new exhibitors. For information, call the library at (502) 732-7020.
The second Food Pantry Benefit will be held at 6 p.m. April 20 at the Carroll County Middle School Auditorium. The Infinite Realm will be hosting the gospel sing with performers from Christian Academy of Carrollton and local favorite, Helen Mumphrey as special guests. Admission is $10 for 18 and over, $5 for ages 6-17 and under 6 are free. $1 will be deducted from the admission price for each can of food brought in.
