  • Relay for Life

     Team to hold yard sale

    Team Robbins will host a Relay For Life yard sale fundraiser June 2 in Traderbaker’s parking lot. The yard sale will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will continue into the afternoon, weather permitting. They will also be selling purple bows for our “Paint the Town Purple” campaign.

     Sanders church to hold free yard sale June 2

    Sanders Baptist Church will be hosting a “free” yard sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 2. Clothes, housewares, and some furniture is available to the community. No consigners please. Additional information is available by calling (502) 525-2070.

    Monthly hymn sing set at Pleasant View church

    Trimble County Hymn Sing will be held the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be held Thursday, June 7 at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

    The Carrollton Main Street Program will host an information session on the Enterprise Incentive Program at 6 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

    AlAnon meets at 6 p.m. at Westside Fire Hall in Prestonville.

  • Garden fresh items make a tasty cauliflower salad

     I stopped in at the Carroll County Cooperative Extension office last week and was greeted with the most beautiful display of fresh vegetables. 

    You never know what’s behind those doors when you go there, but oh, the most pleasant people, displays and information is right there at your finger tips.  Jim Graves was the person showing his beautiful vegetables and you can try some for yourself if you go to the Farmer’s Market every Wednesday at the courthouse and Saturdays at Hometown Pizza. If you don’t go, you are truly missing out.

  • Tinch, Hicks to wed June 9

     James O. Tinch of Verona, Ky. and Cathalean Tinch of Carrollton would like to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Mary Christine Tinch of Worthville, Ky. to Matthew Douglas Hicks of Worthville, the son of Beverly Hicks of Carrollton, Ky. 

    The bride-to-be is a 2011 graduate of Carroll County High School and is employed as a cashier at Walmart.

    The groom-elect is a 2007 graduate of Owen County High School and is employed at Kentucky Motors as a salesman.

     Joe and Pat Martin of Georgetown, Texas would like to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Shantil L. Martin to Michael Taylor Moore, son of Stacia Taylor Moore of Bedford, Ky. and Michael Frank Moore of Austin, Texas. He is the grandson of Judy McCain Dowell of Bedford, Ky. and the late Russell A. Taylor.

  • Arneys welcome baby girl on March 21

    Travis and Mindy Arney of Carrollton, would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Annabelle Catherine Arney, born at 3:26 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Baptist East. She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 19 ½ inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Gary & Cathy Greer of Crestwood, and paternal grandparents are LB & Kim Arney of Ghent. Great grandparents are Margie Greer of Shelbyville and the late Charles and Kathy Webster.
