  • Arvin anniversary

    Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Arvin of Ghent celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.

    Clara and Herbert Arvin were united in marriage, June 26, 1971, at White’s Run Baptist Church with Brother Thomas officiating.

    They have three children, Jennifer, Kyle and David; and five grandchildren, Katie, Hailey, Olivia, Emily and Aliah.

    I noticed on Facebook that some of you mentioned meals you had fixed for your husbands and fathers for Father’s Day.  In fact, I see a lot more comments regarding what you have fixed for dinner, a dessert you made, brunches and so on. 

    I have heard, in the past, “Oh I don’t cook or I don’t like to cook,” but with the economy the way it is now, it has forced many of us to go back to cooking.  I am so impressed with everyone!

    Cooking can be fun, and it is another good way to express yourself.
