The third annual Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Charity Shoot will be Saturday, July 30 at the Elk Creek Hunt Club, located at 1860 Georgetown Road, Owenton, Kyx. European rotation starts at 9 a.m. and shooting must be complete by 4 p.m.
The main event, sporting clay, costs $65 and the 3D archery shoot costs $25. Numerous prizes will be awarded. All proceeds benefit the KSP Trooper Island Camp, a non-profit organization that operates solely on private contributions.

Rob Riley, of Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton recently attended the 129th anniversary of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky’s annual convention held at the Louisville Marriott Downtown Hotel and the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky. During this three-day meeting Riley was elected to the Northern District Director position for Kentucky and will also serve in the position of Secretary-Treasurer.
Funeral directors were offered continuing education awards while attending the convention.
