    Thursday, Dec. 3: 8:30 a.m., Cards and Games; 10 a.m., trip/bingo social at YMCA bring a dish to share; noon, lunch; 12:30 p.m., chair volleyball.

    Friday, Dec. 4: 8:30 a.m., Cards and Games; 10 a.m., bingo 10:30 a.m.; noon, lunch; 12:30 p.m. chair volleyball.

    Dec. 3, 6 p.m.  -   Dr. Deborah Wickham will talk about Guatemalan textiles and share about her travel and teaching experiences in the country.

  • Community Angel Tree deadline Dec. 16

    The Community Christmas Angel Tree is now up at Walmart. The deadline to have all of the angels sponsored and gifts returned is Dec. 16. 

    Participants will take a tag, purchase gifts and return the angel tag and gifts to the Walmart customer service counter. Presents will be distributed to local children.

  • Cartmell Thanksgiving

    Cartmell Elementary students shared Thanksgiving lunch with their family members Thursday, Nov. 19. Principal Jonica Ray said 257 guests attended the event.

  • Scouting for food!

    There were 87 volunteers that came out Saturday, Nov. 20, to collect 3,717 canned goods that were left at residential front doors during the Scouting For Food Drive. The scouts organized the door-to-door collection project.

  • Winn Thanksgiving

    Kathryn Winn Primary School hosted its Thanksgiving dinner Friday, Nov. 20, with 426 guests joining the students for dinner.

  • Scouts take field trip to NAS
  • Westricks celebrate 30 years of marriage

    Richard and Lucy Westrick were married 30 years ago on April 30, 1985, while on their trip to Hawaii. They renewed their vows again on Oct. 30, 2015. It was the same day of the month, but they could not be there in April, so they went in October.

    One of the most amazing things when they had their vows renewed was they found their same favorite judge that married them 30 years before, Judge Michael Town, Lucy said. It was wonderful, she said.
