I noticed on Facebook that some of you mentioned meals you had fixed for your husbands and fathers for Father’s Day.  In fact, I see a lot more comments regarding what you have fixed for dinner, a dessert you made, brunches and so on. 

I have heard, in the past, “Oh I don’t cook or I don’t like to cook,” but with the economy the way it is now, it has forced many of us to go back to cooking.  I am so impressed with everyone!

Cooking can be fun, and it is another good way to express yourself.

Misty Brett Abercrombie and James Michael Franklin II announce their plans to wed 4 p.m., July 2, 2011, at Sanders Baptist Church in Sanders, Ky.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Tom and Jeanie Abercrombie of Sanders, Ky.

The groom-to-be is the son of Jimmie and Linda Franklin of Ghent, Ky.

A reception will be held at Sanders fire house following the ceremony. All friends and family are welcome.

Ghent Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible school from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26, to Wednesday, June 29, for children ages 5-11.

This year’s theme is “Rev it Up — Full Throttle for God.”
