  • Carrollton Woman’s Club meets with district governors

    On Aug. 7 at 7 p.m., Carrollton Woman’s Club met at Pat’s Place on Seminary Street, 11 women and two guests were in attendance.

    The club was honored to have past Gov. Karen Moreland who is the current conservation chairman of Fifth District and Vice Gov. Beverly Pilgram from Northern Kentucky’s Betty Carter Morgan Club.

    Ellen van Nagell hosted the Aug. 2 meeting of the Caby M. Froman Club at the Derby Café located in the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs.

    I started this column in 2004, when garlic was named the herb of the year by the International Herb Association.

    I wrote the first column about garlic. It is hard to believe I have been writing for eight years, starting out as a bi-monthly column and progressing into weekly.  My how time flies when you are having a good time, and I have certainly had that.
