  • Girdler, Ogburn to wed Sept. 21

    Bradley Ogburn of Carrollton, Ky. and Debbie Gardner of Loveland, Ohio announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Ashley Ogburn on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Carroll County High School and completed Cosmetology School in 2004. She is currently an owner and hairstylist at Mane Studio in Carrollton.

    The groom-elect is Andy Girdler, son of Angie Lewellyn of Carrollton and the late Scott Girdler. He is a graduate of Carroll County High School and is employed by NAIS of Madison.

    A new Honey Boo Boo Look Alike Contest will be held at 6 p.m., Sept. 6 during First Friday at the Courthouse Square in Carrollton.

    The Honey Boo Boo Look Alike Contest will be held for children ages 3 to 10.

  • Carroll joins sales training organization

    Chuck Bauer Sales Training recently announced that D.J. Carroll of Carrollton is now an official coach with the organization.

    In a news release, the company said Carroll is now working with the company on a limited part-time basis, but that he may be full time with them soon.

    Carroll has already conducted some seminars for the firm.

    “[I’m] so excited about the future of this business and being a part of it,” Carroll said. He said the week of training was “crazy busy” and that he enjoyed being part of it.

  • Christmas in August

    More than 200 bikes took to the road Aug. 18 for a poker run to raise money to help provide Christmas to local children who may not otherwise have anything at the holidays. Organizer Tracey Reynolds said more than $7,000 was raised through T-shirt sales, a split-the-pot raffle and door prizes.
