The 1963 Carroll County High School football team will be hosting a 50-year reunion at the Friday, Aug. 30, home football game against Henry County. The team, which won the NCKC championship that year, will be honored at halftime. All former players from 1962-1966 are invited to be a part of the celebration.

Days are getting shorter, but not too short. Kids are back in school, and our community is buzzing with activity.
High school and peewee football have started and soon you will see boys proudly wearing their football jerseys on game day. Volleyball and soccer are in full swing, as evidenced by all the cars at the high school, middle school and county park.
For me, this is the sweet spot of the year. It still is warm, but there is a little chill to the air. Mornings are covered with a fog that lifts off to reveal a beautiful late summer day.
Carroll County Library will offer the AARP Driver Safety from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22.
Cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Lunch is provided. The course teaches valuable defensive driving skills and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. Plus, you may qualify for an automobile insurance discount by completing the course. Participants should check with their auto insurance agent for details.
