Thursday, Oct. 30: Breakfast: chicken biscuit; lunch: hot dog with bun, chili sauce, cheese, potato rounds, grapes or pears. Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: sausage biscuit for breakfast and for lunch: Philly cheese or Buffalo chicken with bun, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, green peppers, baked beans, French fries.
Greg Howard of Carrollton has been named the 2014 Warden of the Year by Commissioner Ledonna Thompson of the Department of Corrections for the state of Kentucky.
Howard is a 23 year veteran of the Department of Corrections.
He worked his way up through the ranks, beginning his career as a correctional officer at the Kentucky State Reformatory. He has served as warden of three institutions, and deputy warden of another. He is currently warden of Luther Luckett Correctional Complex.
Registration for Parks and Recreation Little Rookies basketball will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 27-Nov. 7, Monday through Friday at the Parks and Recreation office, located on the third floor of the courthouse. Children ages 3-5 as of Jan. 1, 2015, will be in the lower league, while children 6 through second grade will be in the upper league.

The calendar says it’s fall, and I must say it now officially feels like it. Cool, wind and leaves changing colors have brought the feeling of what’s to come. While cold and snow might still be on their way, the foods of fall are already here.
