  • CCRTA attends district meeting

    The Carroll County Retired Teachers Association met March 17, at Two Rivers Restaurant with seven members present. The minutes of the January meeting were read by secretary Donna Wallace and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was also approved.

  • Carroll County hosts low cost dog spay/neuter event April 18

    A low cost spay neuter day for dogs will be held on April 18, at the Carroll County Animal Clinic. Registration and cash payment are required by April 12, at the Carroll Co. Judge Executive’s office, second floor of the courthouse, downtown Carrollton.

  • General Federation of Woman’s Clubs hosts 5th District student art contest April 15

    Kim Martin, 5th District Vice-Governor of the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs-KY has set the 5th District Student Art Contest for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Carroll County Public Library 136 Court Street, Carrollton, Ky., 41008.

    Carroll County students in grades 9-12 are eligible to compete in the following categories: painting, drawing, printing, watercolor, computer design, pottery/ceramics, crochet/knitting, weaving, sculpture, basket weaving and needlework.

  • Quarter auction to kick off local 2017 Relay for Life

    Carroll County Relay for Life will hold a Quarter Auction, 6 p.m., Friday, March 17, at the General Butler State Resort Park’s mezzanine in the lodge in Carrollton.

    Organizers invite everyone to come and enjoy an evening of fun and excitement as they kick off the 2017 Relay.

    Entry fee is $5 and includes two paddles. Extra paddles are available.

    Upon arrival, each person will receive a numbered paddle. Auction items will be on display with a bid price of one, two, three or four quarters.

  • Football camp March 18, 25

    Carroll County High School football is hosting a youth football camp from 9 a.m.-noon. Saturday March 18 and 25, at the high school conditioning center.

    Camp is open to Carroll County students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Cost is $30 per camper, and each child will receive a t-shirt.

    Campers will learn skills and fundamentals from CCHS coaches and players and have fun at the same time.

    Register at Tees and Sew On, 2494 Hwy. 227, or at the conditioning center March 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
