  • Rogers, Brown to wed March 24

    Thomas Spry and Lorena Stephens of Madison, Ind. would like to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Lori Lynn Spry Rogers of Hanover, Ind. to William F. “Bill” Brown of Worthville, Ky., son of Billy L. Brown of Buffalo, Texas and Mary B. Brown of Worthville.

    The wedding will take place noon on March 24, 2012, in Austin, Ind.

  • Walk set to raise awareness for God’s Special Little Hearts

    God’s Special Little Hearts Walk for Awareness will be held Saturday, Feb. 18 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Owenton. The church is located at 213 N. Main Street.

    Activities during the event include a silent auction, Usborne book fair, vendors and live entertainment from local Christian groups/individuals. Food will be served throughout the day.

  • Holloways celebrate 50th anniversary

    W.C. “Doc” “Buddy” and Myrna Holloway will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.

    Doc worked at M&T Chemicals for 31 years and Myrna was president and CEO of Carrollton Federal Savings and Loan when she retired after 41 years of employment.

    They are both enjoying their retirement together at their home in Trimble County and are both very active members of Cove Hill Baptist Church.

    The couple has one daughter, Cynthia McNew and one grandson, Joey McNew Jr,. both of Carrollton.

  • Adams celebrate 50th anniversary

    The children of Bob and Linda Adams will be hosting a 50th wedding anniversary celebration for their parents on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, from 1-3 p.m. at Relevant Church Family Center, 2505 Highland Ave. in Carrollton.

    The Caby M. Froman Club has been studying the religion of our forefathers since this past July. Our club always has such good programs and  forces us to continue learning, even as we get older.

    Carroll County Girl Scout Daisy Troop 337 would like to thank Kroger and Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana for helping  us support First Lady Beshear’s Shop and Share event this weekend by helping us take donations for the Domestic Violence Awareness Shelters of Kentucky.  Our Daisy Girls experienced first hand what a wonderful, giving community that they live in, and how very important it is to give to people in need. 

  • Daltons welcomes baby daughter

    Matt and Kendra Dalton of Carrollton would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Kayden Layne Dalton, born Jan. 9, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    She weighed 7 pounds 9.4 ounces and was 19 ¾ inches long.

    Her big brother, 23 month old, Hunter Dalton helped welcome her home.

    Maternal grandparents are Allen and Tonya Rassman of Carrollton.

    Paternal grandparents are Gene and Kim Webster of Ghent and the late Brent Dalton.
