  • Kroger hosts bake sale to benefit Relay for Life

    Kroger Relay For Life bake sale will be held Saturday, March 19, starting at 10 a.m. 

    A silent auction also will be held for Cartoon Character baskets. Bid on your favorite basket from March 11-24. Baskets are located behind the self-checkout section of the store. Proceeds will be given to the Carrollton Relay for Life.

    Kentucky State Police Trooper Ryan Gosser talked to Pack 418 March 14, about forensics as part of the Bear Scout achievements. The scouts learned about fingerprinting, identifying footprints and saw demonstrations by both of his drug dogs.

    The “invite is out” as sewing enthusiasts from across the country will be attending  the 11th annual “It’s Sew Fine for Home and Family” Sewing Expo in Carrollton at General Butler State Resort Park from Monday, April 11 through Wednesday April 13.

  • Donation earns free dogwood trees

    The Arbor Day Foundation is making it easy for everyone to celebrate the arrival of spring by planting trees.

    Everyone who joins the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation in March 2016 with a $10 donation will receive 10 free white flowering dogwood trees through the Foundation’s Trees for America campaign.

    White flowering dogwoods will add beauty to your home throughout the year, they are known for their showy spring flowers, scarlet autumn foliage and red berries that attract song birds during winter.
