The Carroll County Public Library will hold the follwing activities Feb. 23-March 1:

Wednesday, Feb. 23: 9:30 a.m., Walk-away the Pounds; 10 a.m.-noon, Knit and Crochet; 1-4:30, St. Elizabeth’s Mammogram Van.

Thursday, Feb. 24: 9:30 a.m., Walk-away the Pounds; 11 a.m., Music makers, ages 18 months and up; 1:30 p.m. Story Hour, ages 4-6 years; 4 p.m., GED Help; 5 p.m., Homework Help; 6 p.m. ESL Class.

Friday, Feb, 25: 9:30 a.m., Walk-away the Pounds.

Saturday, Feb. 26: 9:30 a.m., Walk-away the Pounds; 1-4 p.m., Game Day.

I am planning a brunch for about 50 friends to be held in about a month. I am working on my menu now, trying to decide just what to have from the hours of 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

I want it to be very simple, but really nice. I don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking and I also want some simple things that friends can help me prepare because I don’t want them to have to work too hard.

Three Rivers District Health Department would like to remind anyone planning to rent campsites or open a campground in coordination with any event including, but not limited to, the upcoming Sprint Cup NASCAR race in Sparta this July, must contact the local Health Department for proper guidelines and permitting.  A permit is required to operate any campground used to rent spaces for two or more Motorhomes, RVs, and all Camping Units as per 902 KAR 15020.  Any questions, you may call 502-484-3412 and speak with Justin Pittman, Environmental Health Program Manager.
