  • Family welcomes baby daughter | Cami Rae Blackburn

    Rachel and Paul Blackburn announce the birth of their daughter, Cami Rae Blackburn, born Friday, Oct. 18, 2013,  at Baptist Health Hospital in LaGrange, Ky. She weighed 6 pounds 9.5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

    Sister Albany, 10, and brother Trenton, 6, helped welcome her home.

    Maternal grandparents are Scott and Tina Hoffman and Roger Simmons of Carrollton and maternal great-grandparents are Vernon and Joan Simmons of Carrollton and Arnold and Linda Tilley of Madison, Ind.

  • Scouts return to collect food Saturday

    Area Boy and Cub Scouts, Brownies and community volunteers return to the streets of Carrollton at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov, 23, to collect donated non-perishable food items in the second weekend of the 27th annual Scouting for Food project.

  • Four musicians to perform charity concert for CCAS

    Rock and Roll is going to the dogs (and cats) at this benefit concert at TKay’s Blues and More, Main Street, Carrollton at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29. Four musicians will donate their time and talent giving all tips and contributions to help Carroll County Animal Support.

    Mark Louden plays classic rock, Blues and original songs; Jimmy Mundane plays Rasta-Billy and Americana; Tim Pearson plays country music and Donnie Wright plays Southern rock.

  • Operation Shoe Box collection set for next week in Carrollton

    First Baptist Church in Carrollton is again organizing Operation Christmas Child Shoebox locally, as part of the world’s largest Christmas project of it’s kind.

    Organizers say the shoeboxes demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children in 88 different countries, including the Unites States. Last year they were able to reach 92.8 million children around the globe.

  • CCMH Honoree | Nov. 7, 2013

    Amy Hinman was named September’s employee of the month at Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Hinman has been with the hospital for two years, working on the medical/surgical floor as a licensed practical nurse. In giving her the honor, hospital administrators said she is always willing to help out in any department where she is needed and she is always pleasant to be around.

  • Office to open on Veterans Day

     

    Carroll Circuit Court and offices, 802 Clay Street will be open, Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11 at regular hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
