Since spring is here, I thought I would repeat some of the gelatin salad recipes I have previously printed in this column, plus add a new one that will also be delightful to serve for all those Derby festivities coming soon.
I was delighted to try it at our condo Easter dinner. It is delicious, and I was so honored to be given the recipe to share with you.
The first two recipes are reprints and the newest recipe is the very last one, but not the least because it fits so well with these other lovely gelatin salads or desserts.
David Day, 11, of Taylorsville sat outside Carrollton Sheet Metal on Friday, selling popsicles for 25 cents to raise money for the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The company is owned by his grandparents Dave and Barb Clymer. His sister Emma, 5, suffers from seizures. Last year, David donated $15 to the hospital after one day of selling his wares. “I don’t want people to go through what I do,” he said.

The Lots of Love team in Memory of Glenda Breeden is trying to raise awareness and money for Carroll County Relay For Life.
Through June 15, team members are passing around a “purple potty” to yards in the area with awareness signs and Relay signs to help bring attention within the community about cancer and Relay For Life.
The team hopes more people in the community will come out to honor and remember those who have battled cancer. The Relay will be held June 15-16 at the fairgrounds.
Carrollton Utilities will flush fire hydrants on the City of Carrollton water system, Thursday, April 19, 2012.
Flushing will begin at 8 a.m. with completion by 5 p.m.
Flushing of the hydrants is done each year at this time to remove all sediment in the mains and to make sure all hydrants are working properly. Carrollton Utilities suggest that laundry should not be washed while crews are flushing the hydrants as some staining of clothes could occur.
For more information, call Carrollton Utilities at (502) 732-7055
Our ‘snowbird’ days in Florida have ended. We had a great time, as always, but it started out a little rough.
When we arrived there, we found we had a major leak in our kitchen that came from the condo above us. After dealing with the insurance and all the scheduling that it takes, it finally was completed just before we left.
