  • 2017 Fall Homecoming Court

    The 2017 Carroll County High School Fall Homecoming ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, before the CCHS football game. The Panthers take on Trimble County at 7:30 p.m.

  • Adopt-a-Highway seeks entries for art contest

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is asking the Commonwealth’s art teachers and students to get started on this year’s Adopt-a-Highway Art Contest and submit their entries before the deadline on Oct. 31.

    The Adopt-a-Highway Program’s Art Contest is held annually to increase public awareness about the damaging effects of litter, change attitudes and behaviors about littering and educate Kentuckians about the Adopt-a-Highway program.

    Entries must be postmarked on or before Oct. 31, to be considered for this year’s contest.

  • Carroll County Public Library | Sept. 21, 2017

    The Carroll County Public Library is located at 136 Court Street in Carrollton. Every day after school, the community room is open to tweens and teens to relax, visit with friends and enjoy activities, snacks, games, movies, Netflix, etc. Virtual Reality games are popular and they will have new ones to try out, Monday through Friday from 3:30 – 5 p.m.

  • Sons of the American Legion attend meetings, convention

    The Sons of the American Legion Squad No. 41 has had a very busy summer.

    On Saturday, Sept. 16, Area B Commander Troy Stethen, Squad Commander Ricky A. Wainscott, and Sgt. at Arms Ricky S. Wainscott attended District 6 meeting in Williamstown, Ky., at Post No. 137. They learned a lot of helpful information to advance veterans, and Sons of American Legion and Legion causes. They had a great meal and fellowship. Squad 41 was well attended.

  • CCRTA receives information regarding pension crisis

    The Carroll County Retired Teachers Association met Sept. 15, at Two Rivers Restaurant with 10 members in attendance. President Cassandra McBurney welcomed everyone to the meeting. The minutes of the May meeting were read by secretary Donna Wallace and were approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved.

  • From empty field to hollowed ground

    Volunteers have approximately eight hours to set up the half scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall. Workers from the county, city and state park and others completed the task.

  • Volunteer your skills, joining the Medical Reserve Corps

    The Three Rivers District Health Department Medical Reserve Corps provides citizens of both medical and non-medical backgrounds with a way to help their communities during a public health emergency.

    Anyone interested in joining the Medical Reserve Corps is invited to attend one of two orientation sessions:

    • 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Pendleton County Emergency Management Office, 2275 U.S. Highway 27 N, Falmouth, Ky.  Refreshments will be provided. (This session is being held jointly with the Three Rivers District Health Department).
