  • Carroll County Public Library | April 14, 2016

    The library will be accepting art for the Mary Ann Gentry Art Show until April 20.

    The art show opening reception will be held Friday, April 29, from 6-7:30 p.m. It will feature the Carroll Count High School steel drum band. For more information call (502) 732-7020.

  • Dow Corning donates funds for equipment at new campus

    The Dow-Corning Foundation awarded the Carrollton Campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College a grant for $177,704 to be used on equipment for the applied processes program lab at the new campus being built on Hwy. 227.

    The company has hired nine JCTC graduates in the last two years and currently has seven JCTC students working in various co-op programs, according to a news release from Dow Corning.

  • Learn about famous Kentuckian Daniel Boone at Chautauqua

    Most people know Daniel Boone through Kentucky history in elementary school or through the television series from the middle to late 60’s. You will hear a different tale of Daniel Boone during the Kentucky Chautauqua presentation of Daniel Boone: The First Kentuckian on April 14, at 6:30 p.m. The performance will be held at General Butler State Resort Park’s lodge mezzanine level. Carroll County Arts Board, Friends of Butler and Carroll County Public Library sponsored the event.

  • Carroll County Public Library | April 7, 2016

    The Carroll County Public Library will be accepting art for the Mary Ann Gentry Art Show until April 20. The show will be held Friday, April 29, from 6-7:30 p.m.

    The library will be closed for painting, Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12. If you have a meeting in the Community room already scheduled on one of those days, you will be allowed to hold your meeting as planned.  Staff will be present to let you in.     The Carroll County Senior Center is located at 110 Sixth St., Carrollton, Frances Steurer, Center Manager, (502) 732-7026; e-mail: carrollcty@twcbc.com. Breakfast is served 8:30 a.m. Monday and Wednesday, call to make a reservation, lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. each day, please call to make reservation to eat lunch the following day.

     

    Thursday, April 7: Cards and games, 8:30 a.m.; matter of balance, 10 a.m.; lunch, 11:30 a.m.; chair volleyball, cards and games, 12:30 p.m.

  • Scramble for the eggs

    During the event, there was a contest to guess how many jelly beans were in a glass jar. The answer was 3,438 jelly beans. The winner of the 12 and under division was LuLu Tharp of Carrollton with a guess of 3,367. The winner of the older division was Christy Nolan of Milton with a guess of 3,391.

  • Pageant raises Relay funds

    The sixth annual Relay For Life Pageants were held March 26, at Carroll County Middle School. All proceeds benefited the Carroll County Relay For Life and American Cancer Society.
