  • Faces from the Carroll County Fall Festival
  • Veterans Appreciation Luncheon Nov. 6

    The Carroll County Senior Center (502)732-7026, 110 Sixth Street in Carrollton, will be offering free rides to any veteran and spouse/caretaker that would like to attend the Veterans Appreciation Luncheon Nov. 6. The event will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and is sponsored by the St. Elizabeth Hospice and held at St, Elizabeth Training and Education Center, 3861 Olympic Blvd. in Erlanger, Ky.

    Lunch is catered and will include veteran specific information, vendors, speakers and music. The luncheon is free to any veteran and one spouse or caretaker.

    Thursday, Sept. 28: Cards, games, and color therapy, 8 a.m.; arthritis exercise, 9:30 a.m.; Bingocize, 10:30 a.m.; lunch, 11:30 a.m.; chair volleyball, cards and games, 12:30 a.m.; shopping at Walmart, Kroger and pay bills, 1:30 p.m.

    The Carroll County Public Library is located at 136 Court Street in Carrollton.

    Every day after school, the community room is open to tweens and teens to relax, visit with friends and enjoy activities, snacks, games, movies, Netflix, etc. Virtual Reality games are popular and they will have new ones to try out, Monday through Friday from 3:30-5 p.m.

    The library is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.; and closed on Sundays.

  • NKADD competes in statewide food drive

    Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes joined Northern Kentucky Area Development District Board Chairman Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson, Executive Director Lisa Cooper and representatives from the Freestore Foodbank Sept. 20, to kick off a statewide food drive competition that challenges Kentucky’s local and county government offices to donate food and funds to aid Kentucky families.

    The 2017 Carroll County High School Fall Homecoming ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, before the CCHS football game. The Panthers take on Trimble County at 7:30 p.m.

  • Adopt-a-Highway seeks entries for art contest

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is asking the Commonwealth’s art teachers and students to get started on this year’s Adopt-a-Highway Art Contest and submit their entries before the deadline on Oct. 31.

    The Adopt-a-Highway Program’s Art Contest is held annually to increase public awareness about the damaging effects of litter, change attitudes and behaviors about littering and educate Kentuckians about the Adopt-a-Highway program.

    Entries must be postmarked on or before Oct. 31, to be considered for this year’s contest.
