  • Girl Scouts to register members Aug. 20

    Carroll County Girl Scouts registration night will be Tuesday, Aug. 20, starting at 5 p.m. at the Carroll County Park.

    There will be a parent meeting from 5-6 p.m. followed by a pool party for the girls from 6-8 p.m.

  • Barnes attends ventriloquist convention

    J.R. Barnes, 12, of Carrollton and a student at Carroll County Middle School is becoming an outstanding entertainer. Barnes recently attended the Vent Haven Ventriloquist Convention at the Airport Marriott Hotel near Florence, Ky.  Jeff Dunham, a renowned ventriloquist, was a special guest speaker.

    He gave a lecture on how to become a better ventriloquist to more than 650 attendees.

    David A. Smith of Carrollton and Kathy and James Brindley of Carrollton,  announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter,  Kristen R. Smith to  J. Jourdan See of Carrollton, son of John W. See, of Perry Park, Ky. and Cindy Ellis-Hill of Carrollton.

    The bride-to-be is a  graduate  of Jefferson Community and Technical College and is employed at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s in LaGrange, Ky.

    The groom-elect is a graduate of Jefferson Community and Technical College and is  employed at North American Stainless in Ghent, Ky.

  • Couple celebrates 59th annniversary

    David and Mary Jo Willhoite Corley recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.  They were married in Madison, Ind. on June 25, 1954. Mr. Corley retired from the United States Air Force and General Butler State Resort Park and currently works for Earl Floyd Ford.  Mrs. Corley retired from Carroll County Schools.  They have two children, Grace (Randy) Tharp and William (Mary) Corley, four grandchildren:  Eric, Melissa, Mark and Tim and two great grandchildren:  Haley and Ryan.  They reside on Carlisle Road in Carrollton.
