  • You have a voice

    2 Timothy 1:7 ESV

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Often preachers such as myself mention that we as people of Christ are the Body of Christ, the physical attachments that are Christ’s tools and servants in this world. As I write this, I think of one’s mouth as being used as the physical Body of Christ.

  • Anatomy of an apology

By the time you read this, this will be old news and the nation will most likely have already moved on to the next outrageous thing.

However, as I’m writing this, Kathy Griffin is making headlines.

Who is Kathy Griffin (and why should you care)? She’s a 56-year-old comedian and self-identified “D-list celebrity” known for being abrasive, brash, crude and sarcastic.

Most recently she made the national news when she posed for a photo, holding up the fake, but realistic, bloody decapitated head of President Donald Trump.

  • The smallest word is the greatest challenge

One of the more influential words in the New Testament is also the shortest: If.

We find it most prominently in the call of Jesus in Luke 9:23. “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

  • Is God paying attention?

Little Johnny said grace at family dinner one night. “Dear God, thank you for these pancakes ...” When he concluded, his parents asked him why he thanked God for pancakes when they were having chicken. He smiled and said, “I thought I’d see if he was paying attention tonight.”
