    It is the week after Easter. All of the decorations and candy are marked down fifty percent. The egg hunts are over. The big family meal after church has been eaten. The leftover ham and dinner rolls are gone. The worship service focusing on the resurrection of Christ has ended. It is the week after Easter, and life is back to normal…but should it be?

    “The Last Supper” at Carrollton Christian

    Carrollton Christian Church invites the community to attend its Maundy Thursday play “The Last Supper” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13.

    First presented in 1970, the original script was written by the late Rev. Paul Livesay and Dwight Louden. Many of the lines are taken from the Bible scriptures and others are the authors’ vision of conversations between the disciples. The purpose of the play is to bring to life the scriptures and to bring the viewer to an attitude of worship.

    There has long been a debate over the question, who killed Jesus? Some are of the opinion that it was the Jewish leaders. Matthew 26:3-4 states “Then assembled together, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and consulted, that they might take Jesus by trickery, and kill Him.”
