  • We must actively choose God and ‘walk the walk’

A person won’t change until they’re ready to. Every Sunday messages are preached and yet people still refuse to respond to God. Instead of building their relationship with God, a lot of people give money to false preachers who claim that God will bless those who give to them. Even though Jesus Christ allowed himself to be nailed to a cross for our sake, things haven’t changed since the beginning; we’re still focused on what we want for ourselves and not what God wants for us.

  • Everything God does for us is done in his mercy

In the 1930s, a Polish nun named Maria Faustina Kowalska began to have visions of Jesus, who told her to record his message to her and spread it throughout the world. The central aspect of this message was that the world would know of the mercy of God. Because of this message, Catholics across the world celebrate the Sunday after Easter as Divine Mercy Sunday. But what is it that Jesus wants us to know about mercy?

  • There should be no ‘back to normal’ after Easter

It is the week after Easter. All of the decorations and candy are marked down fifty percent. The egg hunts are over. The big family meal after church has been eaten. The leftover ham and dinner rolls are gone. The worship service focusing on the resurrection of Christ has ended. It is the week after Easter, and life is back to normal…but should it be?

“The Last Supper” at Carrollton Christian

Carrollton Christian Church invites the community to attend its Maundy Thursday play “The Last Supper” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13.

First presented in 1970, the original script was written by the late Rev. Paul Livesay and Dwight Louden. Many of the lines are taken from the Bible scriptures and others are the authors’ vision of conversations between the disciples. The purpose of the play is to bring to life the scriptures and to bring the viewer to an attitude of worship.
