    Relevant Church sets revival for Nov. 1-3

    The Relevant Church, 2505 Highland Ave., Carrollton, will celebrate a revival Friday through Sunday, Nov. 1-3 with the Rev. Dan Mack as guest speaker.   • Project Comfort makes a difference for senior citizens in Carroll County

    Mr. Dick Humphrey is in heaven now. I knew him as a senior citizen in my neighborhood many years ago. He moved slowly and deliberately, always with a cane. He depended on those around him to help get groceries into his house and snow off his porch.

    People looked out for Mr Humphrey and offered to help him in many creative ways. My “thing” was to walk with him to church. He was always happy and grateful for the community who cared for him.

    Fall soup supper set at Relevant Church

    The annual fall soup supper will be held from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at the Relevant Church, 2505 Highland Ave. in Carrollton. Soups, sandwiches, chips, desserts and drinks will be served. Pastor Rusty Bennett welcomes everyone. Donations accepted.

    When I was a kid I was a lot smarter, and when I was a teenager I knew everything. But now that I’m in my 50s I realize that I’m not all that smart.

  • Church to celebrate its 79th annivesary

    The First Apostolic Church, 111 Third St., Carrollton, will celebrate its 79th church anniversary with services at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, and 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.  The Rev. Michael Maughmer, of Chillicothe, Ohio, will be the guest speaker.

    The Rev. Cecil Ellison, who pastored until 1995, founded the church in 1934. The Rev. David Croucher became the pastor last year.  Everyone is welcome.

    Wesleyan church plans 90th year celebration

    The Carrollton Wesleyan Church, 216 Third Street, is celebrating 90 years at a special service during its revival Sunday, Oct. 20.

    District Superintendent Marlin Hotle will serve as the evangelist and speak at the church.

    All former pastors and district superintendents have been invited. There also will be an afternoon concert with Jay and Amber Wisler.

    Sanders Baptist hosting fall revival Oct. 6-9

    Sanders Baptist Church will host a fall revival in October. The public is invited to attend.

    The event starts with the Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. Oct. 6 and will continue at 7 p.m. each evening through Wednesday, Oct. 9.

    Pastor Dwight Parker of New Liberty Baptist Church will be the featured speaker. There will be special music for each service.
