  • The Carroll County Public Library held its 17th annual Nutcracker Tea on Dec. 9. Hot tea and finger foods were on the tables for children.

Lunch is served daily at 11:30 a.m., breakfast is served 8 a.m. Monday and Wednesday only, reservations are required by 11:30 the day before.   • Joe and Sandy Beall of Ghent are hosting “Santa Claus is Coming to Ghent”: Friday, Dec. 15, Saturday, Dec. 16, and Monday, Dec. 18, through Thursday, Dec. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at their home 704 Liberty Street in Ghent.

    Cookies and cocoa will be served, as well as a shop for handmade gifts.

  • Alena and Garland Frazier of Eminence would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mariah Fennell of Bedford to Bradford Smith of Bedford, son of Janice and Wayne Smith of Bedford.

    The bride is a graduate of Eminence Independent Schools and Morehead State University.

    The groom is a graduate of Trimble County Schools and JCC College.

    The wedding will take place June 24, 2018, at Eminence First Presbyterian Church. 

  • The Carrollton Police Department will host a training session on church security and how to handle an active shooter for area pastors and church leaders. The training will be from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at city hall. CPD Chief Mike Willhoite will administer the training.

  • The Carroll County Public Library is located at 136 Court Street in Carrollton. Every day after school from 3:30-5 p.m., the community room is open to tweens and teens to relax, visit with friends and enjoy activities, snacks, games, Netflix, etc.
