  • Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair, and we want to blame God for our problems. But Matthew 5:45 states, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

    What the scripture is saying is that good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. That’s life.  Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is difficult.

  • The National Alliance for Mental Illness is offering a free 12-week educational course for families and friends with members who suffer from mental illness.

  • Lt. Col. Mike Yocum was promoted to the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army in a ceremony Jan. 10, at Fort Belvoir, Va.  Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Force Management and Manpower Gwen DeFilippi presided over the ceremony.  

    Yocum was born in Carroll County  and  is the son of Jim and Shelby Yocum of Harrodsburg.

    Valentine’s Day Cards (Friday, Feb. 14) - Team members from KDH will be sharing cards with patients who are in the hospital on Valentine’s Day.

  • Kentucky 4-H is one of the most important and influential youth programs in our state and our county. Across Kentucky more than 238,000 youth ages 9 to 19 learn about leadership, citizenship and life skills in “learn-by-doing” experiences such as communications and public speaking, through agriculture projects like livestock judging, science projects with robotics, 4-H camp, Teen Conference and many other 4-H programs and activities.
