  • Resources can be limited in small communities like Carroll County. Over the years, I have begun to understand that partnerships really help strengthen the foundation of many organizations. One of the great things about our community is how we can come together when needed. This can be in the face of adversity or rallying around a good cause. Partnerships have been the cornerstone of the Carroll County Public Library for many years.

  • The air is getting cooler and the leaves are changing color, signaling the beginning of fall and the start of football season in Kentucky.  With football comes tailgating.

Football fans love to gather in the stadium parking lot and set up the grill to cook and eat while discussing football strategies to win that big game.

However, the excitement of the game is no excuse for forgetting about proper food handling procedures.

  • Now that Labor Day—the unofficial end of summer—has come to pass and we are experiencing a little bit of a cool down in temperatures, we now start thinking about the upcoming change of season.

Fall is a beautiful time for gardens, but it can also be a messy time.  Tree leaves turn from green to vibrant fall colors and then drop, creating big piles.  The way we address our yard waste can have a significant impact on our gardens and on the environment.

  • What is a church?

If you use google as a browser, you may find a definition like this: “A building used for public Christian worship”, that is not the definition of a church. I’ve also found other definitions, the church is ‘you.” The bible mentions, if you are a Christian, that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, not a church. Another definition that I found in the dictionary, the clergy or the pastor that’s not a right answer either. So what is a church then? I’m glad you asked.

  •   The gala is an annual juried arts and crafts fair held at General Butler State Resort Park the first Saturday of September every fall.
