    Few students from this Carroll County get to attend “The No. 1 high school in the nation,” but Linda Aguazul, a senior this year at The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science, was born and raised here.

    Gatton Academy was recently named the top high school in the United States by Newsweek magazine, according to the Newsweek website. Gatton is located on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky.

  • April Puckett and Matthew Franklin announce the birth of their son, Levi Antony Franklin, born, Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, Ky. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 21.5 inches long.

    His big sister, Tabitha Puckett 31/2 years old helped welcome Levi home.

    Maternal grandparents are Angie Puckett of Lockport, Ky. and the late Mike Puckett.

    Paternal grandparents are Linda and Jimmy Franklin of Ghent, Ky.

  • Brett and Denise Caton of Worthville are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter Amanda Caton to Cody Logan, the son of Matthew and Carol Logan of Jonesville, Ky.

    The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Dunnellon High School and is employed by North American Stainless in Ghent.

    The groom-to-be is a 2004 Owen County High School graduate and is employed at Bowlin Energy. 

    The ceremony will take place on Aug. 25, 2012, at 6 p.m., The couple plan to reside in Owen County.
