Today's Features

  •  Greetings in the Name of Christ. For my article this month I want to talk to you all about EDGE Outreach. 

    Since 2001, EDGE staff members and volunteers have been distributing and installing water treatment systems for use in developing communities. EDGE seeks to prevent waterborne illness with truly sustainable solutions by training local people, solving problems creatively in the field, and improving developing communities’ self-sufficiency.

  •  Hymn sing planned at Mt. Hermon church

    Trimble County Hymn Sing is held the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 2 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.

    Jubilee service planned

  •  On the morning of writing this column, I was blessed with picking peaches from our very own peach tree. Why do I say blessed? I am blessed because one year we had several peaches on the tree one day, and the very next day they were all gone. 

  •  Wednesday, July 18

    Carrollton Rotary Club meets at the lodge at General Butler State Resort Park at noon.

    AA Big Book study groups meets every Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St. 

    Carroll County High School Site Based Decision Making Council meets at 4 p.m. in the high school conference room.

  •  God reprimands people who gossip, as the Bible says in I Timothy 5:13: “Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies who talk nonsense, saying things they ought not to.”

  •  Hymn sing planned at Sanders Baptist

    Sanders Baptist Church will host its monthly hymn sing on Sunday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m. The Sanders Gospel Band will be performing, as well as others. Pastor Hardin Lowe and the congregation invite all to attend.

    Chapman to perform at Hopewell Community

    Mark Allen Chapman, gospel recording artist, will be appearing at Hopewell Community Church, Locust Road, Sunday, July 22 at 11 a.m.
