  • Bill and Dianna Koerner of Lebanon, Ind. would like to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Lisa M. Koerner of Carrollton, to Bryant W. Hunger of Carrollton, son of Renee Hunger of Madison, Ind. and James and Jennifer Hunger of Scottsburg, Ind.

    The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of University High School in Carmel, Ind. and a 2010 graduate of Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. with a major in chemistry and minors in biology and communications. She is currently employed at Dow Corning as a Quality Assurance Technician.

  • Our friends from Virginia stopped in to visit us while on their way to Indiana. Since I haven’t been home too long, I hadn’t really caught up on my grocery shopping and just getting things back in order. 

    I wanted to fix something really nice for their dinner the night they arrived and I came upon a really nice pork tenderloin at the grocery.

  • Carrollton Rotary Club will partner with Down on Main Street restaurant again for a pancake breakfast to fund scholarships for Carroll County students. 

    The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, from 7-10 a.m. at the restaurant located at 508 Main St. in downtown Carrollton. “Celebrity” waiters will again  work for tips.

  • How many times have we gone through very difficult times in our lives; — being in a car accident, going to the hospital for an emergency or having an accident at work or at home. With time we find a way to overcome them, but they always leave us with scars.

    But there are other kinds of pain, like when parents get a divorce, having a family member in jail, when someone special in our lives passes away, having a family member that’s an alcoholic or a drug addict.

  • The Carrollton Wesleyan Church, 216 Third Street in Carrollton, will host a series of revival services beginning Wednesday, May 16 through Sunday, May 20.

    The Rev. Bud Allman will serve as the evangelist for the meetings. Mark Chapman will be the song evangelist.

    Services will be held Weds.-Saturday at 7 p.m. Sunday’s services will include Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., worship at 10:30 a.m. and a concert at 2 p.m. by Mark Chapman.

  • Wednesday, May 9

    Carrollton Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon at Butler Park lodge.

    AA Big Book study groups meets every Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St.

    Family Community Pharmacy Program will screen potential clients from 9-11 a.m. at the Northern Ky. Community Action Center, Highland Avenue. Call (502) 732-5253.
