  • Carroll County Girl Scout and adult registration night is 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at Carroll County Public Library. Volunteers are always needed. Please consider volunteering to lead a troop so even more girls can be a part of Girl Scouts. Everyone is welcome to come to the event and join the fun.

  • Carrollton Lions Club sponsors the Comedy Magic Show at the Carroll County Middle School Auditorium 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27. Proceeds will help with the eyeglass program and special eye treatments.

    Magician and musician David Cottrell plays a blazing five-string banjo and has performed for the President of the United States, opened for acts such as George Strait, Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krauss and David Copperfield. He is member of Louisville Magic Club and International Brotherhood of Magicians.

  • This has been a very busy week and emotional, at that.  My daughter, her fiancé and my grandson moved to New Jersey. After having them in the area for the past seven years, it was very hard to say goodbye. But on the other hand, we are very excited for them. They are off to new adventures.

  • On Aug. 2, the Carrollton Woman’s Club met at Pat’s Place on Seminary Street at 7 p.m.

  • Six habits – six weeks. That is the challenge that the Northern Kentucky Cooperative Extension family and consumer sciences agents are giving to everyone in the eight-county area.

    Health and Wealth Challenge 2011 runs from Aug. 29 to Oct. 9.

    We invite all Carroll County residents to sign up for the challenge. If you complete and log six health and wealth habits during the challenge, and submit your completed tracker form you will be eligible for a number of nice prizes.

    Carroll County High School Site Based Decision Making Council meets at 4 p.m. in the high school conference room.
