  • The Three Rivers Shooting Sports Club regrets that due to unforeseen problems, the club will be unable to host the “Family Day on the Range” planned for June 18.  The club plans on re-scheduling the family day event later in the year. Organizers extend their apologies to those in the community who had planned on attending this event.

  • We recently returned from visiting our son in Moore, Okla. Scott lives just three miles from Toby Keith, and yes we saw his home.

    Keith has the largest American Flag flying in his yard that I have ever seen. That man is very well thought of in Oklahoma.

     It is always such a pleasure for us to visit Scott because he goes out of his way to prepare special meals for us. He does do a good job of impressing his mother with his culinary talents. Wonder where he learned how to cook so well? 

  • English Baptist Church will be the site of the “Big Apple Adventure.” Amid the exciting sights and sounds of the city, youngsters will learn that they can connect faith and life through a relationship with Jesus.

    The program is Vacation Bible school at English Baptist Church. Children age four through grade seven are welcome. The program 6-8:30 p.m. June 26-30.

    In the one-week adventure, kids will visit worship at Times Square, Bible study at Battery Park, music backstage, playground 1017 and the crafts district.

    Carroll County Fair continues through Saturday, June 11 featuring carnival rides, beauty pageants, exhibits, livestock shows, food, music and more.

    Carrollton Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon at Butler Park lodge.

    AA Big Book study group meets every Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St.

    Ghent Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 6 p.m. in the city building.

  • Apostolic church sets Vacation Bible school

    Calvary Apostolic Church, 1103 Eighth St. in Carrollton hosts Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-13 from 5-7:30 p.m. June 13-15. The theme is Feasting on the Word of God. For more information, call (502)-732-5808
