  • Morris, Johnson wed on Oct. 17

    Patrick Morris of Carrollton and Jolene Johnson of Carrollton exchanged vows Oct. 17, 2013, at Orange Beach, Alabama.      

    The groom is the son of Tom Morris of Lamar, Mo. and Bonnie Morris of Carrollton, Ky.

    The bride is the daughter of Donna Johnson of Carrollton and the late John Johnson.

    A reception will be held at 7 p.m., Nov. 9, at the National Guard Armory in Carrollton. All friends and family are invited to attend.

    CCHS Class of 1988 is planning  its 25 year reunion for Nov. 9 in Carrollton

    The Carroll County High School class of 1988 will hold its 25 year reunion at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at Down On Main Restaurant (upstairs).

  • Try these fun recipes after trick-or-treating this year

    Happy Halloween! It is that time of year for all the ghouls, goblins, princesses and superheroes to frolic around the neighborhoods. With all that fun, let us also be safe with a few Halloween safety reminders:

    •Make sure children travel in groups and/or with an adult.

    •Give children flashlights for added visibility.

    •Accessorize with glow-in-the-dark necklaces or bracelets, or use reflective tape.

    •Check collected items before allowing children to eat them.

  • Carroll County 4-H benefits from state ‘Ag Tag’ program

    In February, Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer asked farmers across the Commonwealth to step up and make an “Ag Tag” donation, which benefits the Agriculture Program Trust fund. This is divided equally among 4-H, FFA and Kentucky Proud.Farmers had the option to donate $10 when they renewed their license plates. I want to thank Carroll County residents who purchased them.

    The 4-H Foundation is excited to announce the 4-H share for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, was $160,895. These funds benefit all levels of Kentucky 4-H.
