  • Jenine and Craig Sullivan of Jacksonville, Fla. announce the birth of their son, Liam Kirk Sullivan, born Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 1:34 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds and was 21.5 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Richard and Lucy Westrick of Carrollton, the late Edward and Clara Westrick and great-grandmother Marie Wilson of Barbourville, Ky. and the late Barnett Wilson.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Sheree Richter of Carrollton announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter Erin Elizabeth Richter of Washington, D.C.  to Richard John Sabatini of Washington D.C., son of Dr. and Mrs. John and Candy Sabatini of Culver City, Calif.

    The ceremony will take place, at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at the Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, Va.

  • Carroll County Parks and Recreation Department will offer an after school program for students who plan on attending the Lighthouse programs, which begins Sept. 3.

    The program will be for students age 4 through those who attend fifth grade. Cost is $25 per week or $7 per day.

    All children in the program must be picked up daily by 5:30 p.m.

    Once the Lighthouse program begins, parks and recreation will offer its program on Fridays for $10.

  • The fourth annual Christmas in August Poker Run, will be held, Sunday, Aug. 18 to benefit the Carroll County Ministerial Association.

    The ride starts and ends at Sunset Grill in Warsaw, Ky.

    Registration will be from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Cost is $5 per rider, $5 for extra poker hand and $1 per bike.

    After the ride, there will be free food, door prizes, raffle items and 50/50 split the pot will be offered.
