  • Carroll County Clerk Alice W. Marsh attended the Kentucky County Clerk’s Association annual convention held on Nov. 5 -8. The annual convention brings the County Clerk’s together to discuss and learn the upcoming changes in election law, real estate and motor vehicles.

    One of the highlights of the convention is the auction held on behalf of “Helping A Veteran Everyday (H.A.V.E.),” which is the charitable organization created by the County Clerks to raise money for the veteran’s homes in Kentucky.

  • Barbara Hanna Davis, D.O., joins Norton Vascular Surgery. Dr. Davis earned her medical degree from University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship and surgical residency with St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston, Mass., and a fellowship with the University of Arizona Department of Vascular Surgery, Tucson. She recently served as a member of the clinical teaching faculty with the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Dr. Davis is board certified in surgery.

  • The Carroll County Public Library is located at 136 Court Street in Carrollton. Every day after school, the community room is open to tweens and teens to relax, visit with friends and enjoy activities, snacks, games, movies, Netflix, etc. Virtual Reality games are popular and they will have new ones to try out, Monday through Friday from 3:30-5 p.m.

    Make ornaments throughout the month of November after Story Hour and Music Makers to decorate the Christmas tree at General Butler State Resort Park Lodge, Nov. 30.

  • The Carrollton/Carroll County Tourism and Convention Bureau is hosting its second Christmas Tour of Homes Dec. 2-3 — returning to several favorites from last year’s tour and four new stops.

    Returning this year are visits to the homes of Janet and Mark Blythe, Shelley Mendenhall, along with the Turpin-Butler Historic House, the Masterson House and the Festival of Trees at the General Butler State Resort Park lodge mezzanine.

    The new stops will be the homes of L.B. and Kim Arney, Relevant Church, First Baptist Church and the Old Stone Jail.
