    Medicare Open Enrollment is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, and is the time when Medicare beneficiaries can compare their drug and health coverage options. Do not fall into the trap of keeping your current coverage without first comparing other options. You could end up paying higher monthly premiums, high deductibles and paying for medications covered under a different plan.

    While this may have been for practice, it was the last that would be pretend, as the Teen Court will begin hearing real cases in September.

  • The Center for Courageous Kids is the happy place for Leah Wang, 9, of Carrollton, Ky. She said it is a place of peace, fun, security, joy, acceptance, love and endless possibilities for her.

    Wang was born prematurely and suffers from under developed lung disease. She is chronically asthmatic as a result of the disease. All the children who attend CCK have chronic illnesses. Wang and her mother Starla said families with chronically ill children have challenges to overcome.

  • By now we have all watched the many news reports, seen the pictures of flooded neighborhoods and interstates, and listened to the stories of survival and rescue that have been brought about by the disaster of Hurricane Harvey. To consider the extent of the damage, as well as the loss that so many millions of people have suffered, is almost too much devastation to process.
