  • Velma Jo Kindoll Taylor, 83

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Velma Jo Kindoll Taylor, 83, of Carrollton died, Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at  Shelbyville, Shelby County, Ky.

    Funeral services were held, Monday, Dec. 31 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton with the Rev. Carl Rucker officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Survivors include daughters, Tammy Beach of Carrollton, Sheila McAlister, of Turners Station, Ky., and Cindy Chadwell of Carrollton; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

    TURNERS STATION, Ky. – Dorothy E. Wright, 95, of Turners Station died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the Homestead Nursing Center.

  • Marshall Ray Watkins, 86

    Marshall Ray Watkins, 86, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, at 11a.m. at the Carrollton Christian Church with the Rev. Melvin LeCompte officiating. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Carrollton Christian Church. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangments.

    SANDERS, Ky.—Caroline Elizabeth Tuttle, 3, of Sanders, Carroll County, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Carrollton, Ky.

    Funeral Services will be at 2  p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton with the Rev. Joe Kindoll officiating. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangements.

  • Norma Jean Puckett, 76

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Norma Jean Puckett 76, of Carrollton died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012.

    Funeral services are 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Oct, 31, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 311 W. Jefferson St., La Grange, Ky. Interment will follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery. 

    Mrs. Puckett was retired from Armour Foods.

    Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Jean (Dave) Clymer; two sons, James Dudley (Lezlie) Puckett and Edward Lee (Brittany) Puckett; two sisters, Dee Story and Joyce JoAnn Kelley; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

  • Gene ‘Sparky’ Berry, 76

    PORT ROYAL, Ky. – Gene “Sparky” Berry, 76, of Port Royal died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, Ky.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Carroll McAlister, pastor of Calvary Full Gospel Church. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

  • Mary Gladys Simmons Smith, 88

    BEDFORD, Ky.—Mary Gladys Simmons Smith, 88, of Bedford, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Ky.

    Survivors include two sons, Brian ( Rosie) Smith and Don ( Joanie) Smith  both of Bedford; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

    Her parents, Walter and Maude Kidwell Simmons; and her husband, Andrew Smith preceded her in death.

  • Clarence Thomas “Tom” Roberts, 72

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Clarence Thomas “Tom” Roberts, 72, died, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at his residence.

    Funeral services were held, Monday, Oct. 8 at Faith Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Doll officiating. Interment was in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Ind. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangements.

  • Matthew Harvel Riley, 73

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Matthew Harvel Riley, 73, formerly of Trimble County, died  Oct. 9, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Graveside services were held Oct. 15,  at Port Royal Cemetery in Port Royal, Ky. with Brother Keith Miller officiating. Ransdell Funeral Home, 7101 Campbellsburg Rd. in Campbellsburg was in entrusted with the arrangements.

    Survivors include step children and step grandchildren.

    His parents, Dallas and Alice Anders Riley; and his wife Margaret Riley preceded him in death.

  • Robert Phillips, 71

    CAROLLTON, Ky.— Robert Phillips,  71, of Carrollton died, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.

    Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of the Living God, 124 Smith Lane, in Bedford with the Rev. Bobby Wade officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5-8 p.m. at the  church. Interment will be in the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangements.
