  • J.W. “Pickle” Eaves, 75

     CARROLLTON, Ky.—J.W. “Pickle” Eaves, 75, of Carrollton, Ky., died Monday, June 18, 2012, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

     Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 21 at 11 a.m.. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave in Carrollton with the Rev. Scott Coleman officiating. Visitation will be from 5- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

  • Pat Breeden, 71

     CARROLLTON, Ky.—Pat Breeden, 71, of Carrollton died, Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her residence.

    Funeral services were held, Tuesday, June 19, at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton with the Rev. Pat Butcher officiating. Interment was in the Squiresville Cemetery in Perry Park, Ky. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.

  • Larrietta (Laurie) Akina Ashcraft, 64

     Larrietta (Laurie) Akina Ashcraft, 64,  of Grovetown, Ga., formerly of Carrollton, died, June 11, 2012, at Doctors Hospital, in Augusta, Ga.

    Memorial services were held  on Saturday, June 16,  at the  Greater Augusta Apostolic Church with the Rev. Terry Newsome officiating. McNeill Funeral Home & Cremation Service 109 Shaw Street in Martinez, Ga. was in charge of arrangements.

    Survivors include one daughter, Julie (Michael).Henderson; two sons, Stewart Akina and Terry (Amy) Ashcraft, Jr. ; and five grandchildren. 

  • Michael “Mike” Steven Dwight Monroe, 59

     MADISON, Ind.—Michael Steven Dwight Monroe, 59, of Madison, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Robley Rex Veterans Medical Center in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were held June 10 at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison with Pastor Bill Maginn officiating.

    Survivors include his sons M.D. (Kena) Monroe of Milton, Ky. and Mark Steven Monroe of Madison; his mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Ackerman Sullivan of Madison; his father, Junior “Dee” Dwight Monroe of Charlestown, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

  • William R. “Sug” McAlister, 74

     GOSHEN, Ky. –William R. “Sug” McAlister, 74, of Goshen, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence.

    Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 14, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Gary MaGuffee and the Rev. Carroll “Bimp” McAlister officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday, June 14, at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

  •  Harry “Chuck” Hartley, 75

     CARROLLTON, Ky.—Harry “Chuck” Hartley, 75, of Carrollton died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at his residence.

    Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9. Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth Street in Carrollton assisted the family with the arrangements.

    Mr. Hartley was the son of the late Harry and Marguerite Hartley and the husband of the late Nina Sue Hartley.  He was a Tool and Die Maker and was the former owner of ToolCraft. He was the first employee of Dayton Walther in Carrollton and was responsible for setting up production.

  • Pauline Hughes Bloat

     WORTHVILLE, Ky.—Pauline Hughes Bloat, 69, of Worthville, died Thursday, June 7, 2012.

    Services were private. Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr. in Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

    Survivors include her husband Michael; and a son, John E. Brands.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, John Paul David and Florence Sargent Hughes. 

  • Danny L. Singer, 50

     BEDFORD, Ky.—Danny L. Singer, 50, of Bedford died Friday, June 1, 2012, at his residence.

    Funeral services were held, Tuesday, June 5, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Ind. with the Rev. Frank Repper and Pastor Tom Starks officiating. Interment was in the Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

  • Lawrence “Les” Leslie Sharp, 74

     SUNRAY, Texas—Lawrence “Les” Sharp, 74, of Sunray, formerly of Henry County, died Monday, May 28, 2012.

    Memorial services were held, Wednesday, May 30, at Bible Baptist Church in Sunray with the Rev. Seth Seale officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas, Texas.

  • Emily A. Riley, 80

     CINCINNATI, Ohio—Emily A. Riley, 80, died Monday, May 28, 2012, in Cincinnati.

    Graveside services were held at the Dallasburg Masonic Cemetery in Wheatley, Ky. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.

    Her parents, Robert Byron and Emma Thelma Baker Riley preceded her in death.
