  • Jack Douglas Shirley, 92

    Sanders, Ky.-— Jack Douglas Shirley, 92, died Sunday, May 6, 2012.

    Visitation is Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home213 Fifth St. in Carrollton. Interment will be in the Ghent Cemetery, in Ghent, Ky.

    Survivors include his son, William G. Shirley of Sanders; one grandson; and two great grandchildren.

  • Daniel Mark Murphy, 56

    Worthville, Ky.–Daniel Mark Murphy, 56, of Worthville, formerly of Madison, Ind. died Friday, May 4, 2012, at his residence.

    Funeral services were held, Tuesday, May 8, at the Lytle Funeral Chapel in Madison, Ind.

    Survivors include two sons: Sean Murphy of Madison and Troy Murphy of New Albany, Ind.; and his companion, Sandy Forresting of Louisville, Ky.

    His parents, Dale, Jr. and Madge Batschelet Murphy preceded him in death.

  • Franklin C. Mertz, 69

    NEW CASTLE, Ky.–Franklin C. Mertz, 69, of New Castle, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Norton Suburban Hospital. 

    Funeral services were held Monday, May 7, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Rogers, Deacon of Open Door Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

  • Patricia Faye Combs, 37

    DEMOSSVILLE, Ky.–Patricia Faye Combs, 37, of Demossville, born in Carrollton, Ky. died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood Ky.

    Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Peoples Funeral Home, 8340 Hwy 27 North in Butler, Ky. Funeral services will follow at  2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Wilmington Cemetery, Pendleton County, Ky.

  • Wilma Jay Bickers Webster, 81

    CARROLLTON, Ky.–Wilma Jay Bickers Webster, 81, of Carrollton died, Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Carrollton.

    A graveside service was held, Saturday, April 28 at Jonesville I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jonesville, Ky. under the direction of Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main Street in Williamstown, Ky.

    Survivors include her husband, Kline N. Webster.

    Her parents, Uda and Corinne Beach Bickers preceded her in death.

  • Steven C. “Rooster” Wheeler, 56

    MILTON, Ky.—Steven C. “Rooster” Wheeler, 56, of Milton, Carroll County, Ky. died Friday, April 27, 2012, at The King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Ind.

    A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton. Public visitation will be Friday May 4 from 3 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. In honoring his wishes, cremation was chosen by the family.

  • Mona Fitzgerald Porter, 41

    LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Mona Fitzgerald Porter, 41, of Louisville, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her residence from heart disease.

    Funeral services will be held in Louisville, date is pending.

    Mrs. Porter was born Sept 3,1970, in Louisville to Taylor and Marguerite Davidson. She went to Carroll County High School and University of Louisville. She was of the Baptist faith. Her son and grandchildren were her life. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Leslie “John” Peelman, 72, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his residence in Carrollton.

    Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton with the Rev. David Dicken officiating. Interment will follow the service at the English Cemetery in Carrollton. Pallbearers will be members of the Jeff-Craig Fire Dept. from Vevay, Ind.

    Funeral services were held Thursday, April 26 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton with the Rev. Melvin LeCompte officiating. Interment was in New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Ky.

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Jackie Lee Hendren, 54, of Carrollton died, Friday, April 27, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were held, Tuesday, May 1 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Survivors include daughters, Jennifer Lynn Gomez of Sanders, Ky. and Shirley Jean Martinez of Warsaw, Ky.; sons, Jackie Lee Hendren Jr. and Lee Allen Hendren both of Ghent, Ky.; and thirteen grandchildren.
