Jones, 73

    Willena Jean Jones, 73, of Carrollton died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral services were  Thursday, Oct. 11, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton, with the Rev. Dave Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

    Survivors include a son, Paul Jones; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    Her parents, Roy and Myrdis Waunetta (Yager) Warren, preceded her in death.

  • Rita Lou Ogburn Craigmyle, 70

    OWENTON, Ky. – Rita Lou Ogburn Craigmyle, 70, of Owenton, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Family will receive friends at the McDonald and New Funeral Home on Main Street in Owenton from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.17. The service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Bro. Pat Butcher officiating. Burial  will follow in Owenton Cemetery.

    Born Feb. 15, 1942, in Carroll County, Mrs. Craigmyle was a daughter of the late Ernest and Sabbath Roberts Ogburn.

  • Melessa Ann Jackson Chisholm, 45

    Melessa Ann Jackson Chisholm, 45, of Carrollton, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012,  at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral Services were Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Family Worship Center, with the Rev. Jimmy Stewart officiating. Burial was in English Cemetery in Carroll County.

    Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangements.

  • Jimmie Mae Mikel Armstrong

    Jimmie Mae Mikel Armstrong, 83, of Glencoe died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center.

    Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation is 11 a.m until the service Thursday. Burial will be in the Ghent Cemetery.

    Survivors include two sons, Charles Vernon Armstrong, Ravenna, Ohio, and Dwayne Armstrong of Leitchfield, Ky.; a daughter, Janet Hutton of Glencoe; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

  • Raymond Earl ‘Scooter’ Dossett

    Raymond Earl “Scooter” Dossett, 81, of Paris, formerly of Carrollton, Ky., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

    Graveside services were Sunday, Oct. 7, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, with the Rev. Chris White officiating.

    Survivors include his daughter, Delene (Gilbert) Marcelle of Palmyera, Ind.; sons, Michael E. “Mike” (Robyn) Dossett of Paris and Larry Russell (Janet) Dossett of Manchester, Ga.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

  • David Combs

    David Combs, 53, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. 

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home. Burial was in the Napoleon Cemetery.

    Mr. Combs is survived by his father, Melbert “Duke” Combs, and a stepmother, Margie Combs.

  • Lenora Lucille Schmucker

    Lenora Lucille Schmucker, 68, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at King’s Daughter’s Hospital in Madison, Ind.

    Visitation was Sunday, Sept 30, at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton. Cremation was chosen by the family.

    Mrs. Schmucker was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Scottsburg, Ind., to the late William and Nannie Lewellyn Welch.

    She was a homemaker and employed by Walmart in the cash office for many years.

    Survivors include her husband, Larry; a son, Larry Jr.; two sisters, Imogene McMahn and Sarah Bontriger; and four grandchildren.

    Andrew Alvie McKinney, 84, of Ghent died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital. 

    Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Open Door Baptist Church, 1476 Hwy. 36 East,  Carrollton. Burial was in Ghent Cemetery.

  • The Rev. Warren G. Lowry

    The Rev. Warren G. Lowry, 91, of Worthville died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Carrol County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were Oct. 5 at the Worthville United Pentecostal Church in Worthville. A second service was held Oct. 8 at the First Apostolic Church in Corbin, Ky.

    Burial was in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Corbin.

  • Ronald Douglas Riley

    Ronald Douglas Riley, 68, of Milton died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at his residence.

    A Celebration of Life service was Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Mount Byrd Christian Church in Milton, with the Rev. Mike McCarter officiating.

    Ransdell Funeral Home, 441 Hwy. 42 West, Bedford, Ky., was entrusted with the arrangements.

    Survivors include two sons, Walter D. (Debbie) Riley of Pensacola, Fla., and David A. (Sharon) Riley of Madison, Ind.; a daughter, Margaret R. (Robbie) Snow of Milton, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
