  • Ella Mae Hendren Welch, 75

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Ella Mae Hendren Welch, 75, of Carrollton died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Gallatin Health Care.

    A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth Street in Carrollton. Visitation is 5 p.m. until the service.

    Mrs. Welch was the daughter of the late Lee and Elizabeth Lyman Hendren and she was the wife of the late Robert Welch.

  • Mary Mildred Hall Lowrance, 90

    SANDERS, Ky.—Mary Mildred Hall Lowrance, 90, of Sanders, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at  St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Florence, Ky.

    Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton, with the Rev. Hardin Lowe officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, Ky.

  • Shelby Russell Baker, 84

    CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — Shelby Russell Baker, 84, formerly of Carrollton, Ky., died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Bethel Nursing Home in Croton-on-Hudson.

    He was born June 4, 1928, to Roy and Charlotte Baker in Shelby County, Ky. and grew up in the Bagdad and Christen-berg communities. He graduated from Bagdad High School and attended Eastern State University.

    Mr. Baker was a veteran and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He continued to serve his country for another five years with the National Guard in Frankfort, Ky.

  • Sue Edna Johnson, 87

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Sue Edna Johnson, 87, of Carrollton died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Garnett, New, McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw, Ky., with the Rev. Steve Butcher officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery.

    Born June 1925, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Daniel Hughes and Minnie Keith Hughes.

    Mrs. Johnson worked as a dairy farmer and homemaker.

  • Mary Lou Tangeman Ary, 85

    HANOVER, Ind. — Mary Lou Tangeman Ary, 85, of Hanover, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hanover.

    Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 6, at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, with the Rev. Troy Hedges officiating. Interment was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.

    Survivors include her son, Allan (Pamela) Ary of Carrollton, Ky.; a daughter, Wilma Powell of Madison, Ind.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

    NICHOLASVILLE, Ky.—Tricia Froman Nutter, 42, of Nicholasville, formerly of Carrollton, Ky., died on Friday morning, July 27, 2012, at her parent’s home in Carrollton.

  • Mae Magline “Tag” King, 64

    LEXINGTON, Ky.-Mae Magline “Tag” King, 64, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the University of Ky. Chandler Medical Center.

    Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 28 with Bro. Jerry Handy presiding. Burial was in the Combs Family Cemetery. McDonald and New Funeral Home Main Street location was in charge of arrangements, 

  • Vivian Jackson, 70

    WORTHVILLE, Ky.—Vivian Jackson, 70, died on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her residence in Worthville.

    Mrs. Jackson was born on February 5, 1942, in Clay County, Ky., the daughter of the late Marble and Henrietta Reynolds Gross. She was a housewife and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Church.

  • Helen Virginia Cauley, 89

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Helen Virginia Cauley, 89, of Carrollton, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton.

    Funeral services were held Monday, July 30 at the Carrollton Christian Church with the Rev. Melvin LeCompte officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.

    Survivors include her sons, Terry Cauley and Forrest Cauley both of Sanders, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

  • Linda Lee Hicks, 64

    CARROLLTON, Ky.—Linda Lee Hicks, 64, of Carrollton, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, Ky.

    Funeral Services were held Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., in Carrollton with the Rev. Jerry Ison officiating. Burial was in the English Cemetery in Carrollton.
