  • App offers direct link to school district information

    The Carroll County School District is making it easier than ever to access district news, calendars, school and staff contact information, breakfast and lunch menus, district links and more. A free communications app is available for download for both Apple and Android devices. 

    Users can download the customized Carroll County Schools app directly from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Also, links are posted on the district’s website (carroll.kyschools.us), Twitter account (@CarrollSchooksK) and Facebook profile (facebook.com/CarrollSchoolsK). 

  • Johnson accepts NSCS membership

    Tony L. Johnson of Carrollton has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first-year and second-year college students. Membership is by invitation only based on grade point average and class standing.

    Thursday, Oct. 16: Breakfast: chicken biscuit; lunch: rotini with meat sauce, breadstick, garden salad, broccoli, grapes or applesauce.

     Friday, Oct. 17: Breakfast: cinnamon rolls; lunch: chicken patty with bun, lettuce, tomato and pickle, peas, baked beans, orange or peaches; Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: chicken filet with bun.

    Monday Oct. 13: Breakfast: biscuit and gravy; lunch: sloppy Joe with bun, scalloped potatoes, great Northern beans, apple or pears. Carroll County High School and middle school will offer: ribeque or meatball sub with bun, great Northern beans, apple or pears.

  • Hogan selected to present at Cumberland University colloquium

    Cumberland University recently selected Quincy Hogan of Carrollton, Ky., a senior majoring in child growth and learning, to present her research at a campus-wide colloquium on Sept. 19.

    The program covered various topics from ebola to ancient Egypt to the adult bully and much more.
