  • Student prep for next step focus of the district’s long range plan

    Carroll County Schools have set a goal that 100 percent of all students would be prepared to enter a post-secondary and/or global workforce by 2021 as part of its 2016-2021 district strategic plan.

    Carroll County Superintendent Bill Hogan said that approximately 30 community leaders, teachers and school administrators met every Thursday since mid-January to develop the plan. This same group spent an entire Saturday developing the action plan.

  • CCMS students collaborate, learn from everywhere

    Students in Brenda Cole’s seventh-grade science class at Carroll County Middle School are using Microsoft OneNote to collaborate, communicate and organize their work.

    “Among other things this year, we have studied energy, cells, chemical reactions, force and motion,” Cole said. “And we have used OneNote the whole way.”

    This menu is for Kathryn Winn Primary and Cartmell Elementary Schools, changes for Carroll County High School and Middle School will be italicized.

    Thursday, May 5: Sausage biscuit or mini cinnis and apple; lunch: Soft taco, lettuce/tomato, cheese/salsa/sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice, grapes or pineapple tidbits. Carroll County Middle and High School will offer Sausage cheese bagel for breakfast and taco or chicken fajita for lunch.

    “My favorite things about school are math, my teachers and helping with back pack buddies on Fridays delivering food to students who need extra food.”

    “My favorite subjects are reading and math. Because in books you can find out more information than you could if you didn’t read.”

    Carroll County Youth Service Center sponsored the annual “Safe Night” event for Carroll County Middle School students Friday, April 22. The free event included food, games, basketball and other activities. The purpose of the event is to provide the students with a safe night of fun activities after school.
