Soft taco or chicken fajita with lettuce/tomato/ cheese/salsa/sour cream, refried beans, Mexican rice and banana for lunch.

    Education is full of dollar words for dime ideas. Jargon, in other words. In fact, there are even jargon words for jargon words: “eduspeak,” “edubabble” and “ed-talk” come to mind. This just shows that educators are aware of the problem, yet the complex words (and especially the acronyms) keep piling up.

    Children and adults participated in the Urban Ninja Warrior obstacle course Oct. 22. More than 100 people

    participated or volunteered, and the high school and middle school bands broke even on the first-year event. 

  • Cruz, Jones, Stewart win a Berea College academic award

    Berea College has chosen three Carroll County High School students for the prestigious Berea College Pinnacle Scholar Awards of Excellence. Guillermo Cruz, Rhiannon Jones and Brittany Stewart have been invited to the Pinnacle Scholars celebration on Nov. 19, where they will meet faculty and staff, tour the campus and participate in an awards ceremony.

    “This is a major honor,” CCHS guidance counselor Sheree Richter said. “Guillermo, Rhiannon and Brittany are so deserving of this, and we are grateful to Berea College for recognizing them.”
