    Monday, Oct. 9: Breakfast: Cereal with toast or mini doughnuts or Pop Tarts, apple; Lunch: Chicken filet, or spicy chicken filet on bun, tomato/broccoli cup, ships and apple.

    Tuesday, Oct. 10: Breakfast: Omelet with bacon and toast or banana bread or Pop Tarts and orang; Lunch: Country fired steak or chicken Parmesan, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll, peach halves or banana.

  • Teacher spotlight: Michelle Hawkins

    At the center of Carroll County Middle School, where the original building meets the new addition, sits Michelle Hawkins’s Project Lead the Way classroom.

    From the hallway, anyone can see inside, through a row of chest-high windows or through the classroom’s sliding glass doors.

    When students are not in the room, it looks like a workshop in a high-end manufacturing facility. Stools sit by sturdy worktables, complete with industrial power supplies hanging from the ceiling.

  • Changes coming to reduce time spent on bus

    Carroll County Schools is changing its bus routes so that students are spending less time on the school buses, according to an announcement at the Sept. 21, Board of Education meeting.

    “Cartmell Elementary students are on the buses for 45 minutes before leaving the district,” Director of Transportation Nadena Mahoney said. “That is how long it takes to load the students at all four schools.”

  • 2017 Fall Homecoming Court

    The 2017 Carroll County High School Fall Homecoming ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, before the CCHS football game. The Panthers take on Trimble County at 7:30 p.m.

  • Adopt-a-Highway seeks entries for art contest

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is asking the Commonwealth’s art teachers and students to get started on this year’s Adopt-a-Highway Art Contest and submit their entries before the deadline on Oct. 31.

    The Adopt-a-Highway Program’s Art Contest is held annually to increase public awareness about the damaging effects of litter, change attitudes and behaviors about littering and educate Kentuckians about the Adopt-a-Highway program.

    Entries must be postmarked on or before Oct. 31, to be considered for this year’s contest.
