  • March 27 events at CCMS celebrate both old and new

    The evening of March 27 is packed with a groundbreaking ceremony, a school board meeting and a celebration honoring the old Carrollton High School and celebrating the Carroll County Middle School gymnasium.

  • Kindergarten registration

    Kindergarten “Roundup” Registration is from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. March 25 at Kathryn Winn Primary. Parents should bring their children with them when they register. A short assessment will be given to each child registering for Kindergarten. Please bring a physical, immunizations record, birth certificate, social security card, eye exam and dental screening.

  • Band students earn ‘Distinguished’ marks at District 5

    Fourteen students earned top ratings at the 2014 Kentucky Music Educators Association District 5 Solo and Ensemble Assessment in February.  

    “Every individual and group that performed earned a ‘Distinguished’ rating, which is the highest possible,” said Scott Brawner, Carroll County High School band director.  “In order to earn the highest rating, the musicians must give an almost-flawless performance. This means correct rhythms, pitch and phrasing. The interpretation must also be strong.”

  • More graduation honors, higher requirements in 2015

    Carroll County Board of Education members came to an agreement at a work session meeting Tuesday that they would like to keep the valedictorian and salutatorian honors and add cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude designations to the Carroll County High School graduation ceremony in order to recognize more students for their achievements. The requirements for these new designations will continue to be discussed at the next regular board meeting at 5 p.m. March 27, at Carroll County Middle School.

  • School district working toward being tobacco-free

    Carroll County Schools is taking its first steps toward becoming a Tobacco-Free Campus. The goal is to be tobacco-free by August 2015, just in time to kick off the 2015-16 school year.
