  • Word certification spells success at high school

    In January of 2016, “The Line Leader” reported on Carroll County High School students’ earning Microsoft Office certifications. Students in Lynn Eaglin’s advanced computers class were busy pursuing Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access certifications as part of Microsoft’s Specialist (MOS) program. More than a year has passed, and a new set of MOS certifications are out for the Office 2016 suite. However, Eaglin’s students are still hard at work.

  • Panther Tots

    Carroll County Schools and the Carroll County Public Library teamed up for Panther Tots, Jan. 25. The program was based on the book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.”

  • CCHS guidance counselor explains college, career prep

    With graduation just around the corner and the real world within arm’s reach, students at Carroll County High School are beginning to consider what their next step after high school will be. After graduation, it is up to students to put the skills they learned while at CCHS into practice.

    Approximately 40 percent of CCHS students go to a four-year college after high school, and 20 percent seek to go to a two-year college. Of the remaining 40 percent, half join the military and the other half enter the workforce.

    Friday, Feb. 3: Breakfast: Doughnut of banana bread; lunch: Club sandwich, or grilled cheese, baked chips, pineapple tidbits and pudding cup.

  • The 2017-18 calendar and budget set by school board

    Carroll County Board of Education approved the school calendar for 2017-18 at its Thursday, Jan. 19 meeting.

    The first day for students will be Aug. 15, that is five days later than the first day last August. The last day of school is scheduled for May 23 that is a day later than the current school year.

  • CCHS Agriculture plants seeds

    Outlaw had never been to Carroll County High School before. He walked toward the building, his eyes studying each detail of his surroundings: tall trees, grass and a group of students from Ms. Mackenzie Wright’s agriculture class.

    Outlaw felt right at home.

    Of course he would: he’s a bull.

    And Wright’s students know a lot about bulls.
